Vice President JD Vance announced that Second Lady Usha Vance had given birth to the couple’s fourth child, their third son.
The vice president wrote on Sunday, “We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.“
He continued, “The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing. We are deeply grateful for all they have done for our family.“
President Donald Trump congratulated the vice president and second lady on the birth of their fourth child.
It is the first time a child has been born to a sitting vice president since 1870, to President Ulysses S. Grant’s Vice President, Schuyler Colfax.
